Baby why won't you just show me the time of day? Like, I can treat you right girl. I can show you true love like, when you come home from the club, you been showing out all night for these lames, but they not gone rub your feet girl. I'll rub your feet like it ain't even nothing like that's love, that's devotion, that's real, you feel me? But you won't even show me the time of day or nothing girl, it's like you don't want to be treated right, like, maybe you like these lames and you like your feet hurting when you get home from the club. It be making me all mad like, a girl like you deserves the world, like, I can show you that baby. You just gotta let me, like, cause I respect you and all that so I ain't gone make you do nothing but you just gotta show me the time of day like.

Like you might be up at the club all night but when you get home you be reading and like that's beautiful girl like a dude like me could never read I ain't got time cause I'm thugging but I want a girl like you who be about her hustle then go home and read. And them books be having that real love in them so I know you know what I'm talking about you just gotta let me show you like I can show you what's in them books but it's real.
I'm talking about that real love like I'm waiting up for you to get home from the club and I ain't even mad you been rubbing up on other dudes all night I'm cool with it cause you about that bag like me. True love like holding the door for you at Del Frisco's and laying my jacket in the puddle for you but not my nice one cause we both smart and about that money. Like having dinner in the candlelight girl and cooking for you cause a dude like me can cook more than just the Ramen Noodles and Mac and Cheese like real food, steak and shrimp girl. You just gotta let me show you cause I can show you for real.
Standing from afar, eyes affixed to the microwave, the man could not believe his ears. This phone conversation had been going on for nearly an hour, seemingly without any response from the other participant. He would wait, hoping to simply reheat his leftover chicken, for a moment longer before asking his obstacle to part way. After his confrontation with a different coworker, he worried that interrupting this conversation would only increase the level of attention paid to him, heightening the sensation of walking around the office donning a scarlet R for racist. The obstacle, the man on the phone, glanced over his shoulder and saw the man waiting.
