Thirty-Two: International Criminality (09-05-2022)
It's been almost a week since arriving here in the former greatest country on Earth. The international influential drought that this country has been in for the past fifty years or so is an extremely unusual period considering their historic influence and often undue power compared to their small physical and population size. Additionally, the region of this country that has exerted the most influence on the rest of the country and the world has a very small influence of the perception of this country in the United States. The diaspora community their is not from this region primarily, but imagery associated with this country is entirely focused on this region.
Anyhoo, I've enjoyed violating the social rules of this country and "committing crime" (non-confessional comedy). An American in a foreign land must do something to break their American programming, and a few doses of the good liquid will lower inhibitions enough to enact a perfect American influence: the violation of law. America should not fall victim to becoming embarrassed of our boisterous reputation and should ideally degrade the quality of existence in other nations beyond our exportation of culture.
Homesickness comes later, but the strength of homesickness is reduced by the abundance of American culture everywhere in the world. Maintaining a national identity is nearly impossible for any country that wishes to take advantage of the military and economic strength of the Yankees and Dixies. People here love a burger, their McDonald's (which has wings, so who wouldn't), and cannot get enough of American cinema and music. Shouts of "George Clooney" backed by American rap music is certainly an unexpected experience for an American otherwise ignorant of our nation's supremacy in, at the very least, the West.
